Holocaust Investigation


Welcome sixth graders!
After reading Number The Stars and completing the Holocaust stations, you have learned many interesting things about this devastating event in our history. Now it's time for you to explore and discover new information! The following links will lead you to several selected websites. Be sure to click on the links in order, and follow the directions located on your Web Quest worksheet. If you have any problems, raise your hand and wait for assistance.

1. Tour of Auschwitz : Take a virtual tour of this concentration camp as it stands today, and compare images to the sketches of Auschwitz from the Holocaust.

2. The Dachau Gas Chambers: View photographs of this concentration camp that prove gas chambers were used to exterminate Jews and other groups.

3. WWII Photographs: Select from a list of galleries documenting the Holocaust from ghettos, deportations, camps, and memorials.

4. Genocide: After the Holocaust a word was created to describe what had happened during WWII and a group was established to protect and punish anyone who committed this crime.

5. We Remember: Sixth grade students share why they think it is important to learn about the Holocaust.
